Turkish charity organization has opened a soup kitchen and logistics center in Somali capital Mogadishu.

President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed of Somalia expressed his gratitude to Turkish people and government for giving a helping hand to Somali people.

"Turkish people came to Somali and helped us. What they have done is quite different. They did not just give food to Somali people. But they are here to rebuild Somalia," he said.

Meanwhile, Orhan Erdogan, coordinator of the charity organization "Kimse yok Mu" in Africa, said that the soup kitchen would serve food to Somali people.

President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed of Somalia has visited the tent-site erected by Turkish relief agency, the Red Crescent, in Mogadishu.

President Sheikh Ahmed expressed their gratitude to Turkey, saying, "Turkish people have given a helping hand to Somali people. We are ready to extend any support to Turkish aid teams."

Kemal Pehlivanli, chairman of the Red Crescent delegation in Somalia, said that they had been working hard to help Somalia people for the last two months.

"Number of tents in the site has been increasing day by day to meet the requirements of Somali people," he added.
