Heavy fighting broke out on Sunday afternoon in the Somali capital Mogadishu between AMISON troops supporting the interim government and opposition fighters, witnesses told HOL.
AMISOM tanks were heard firing near KM4 intersection, in an apparent response to incoming shelling from opposition fighters. The area occurred the fighting is Taleh Village of the Hodan district, although some sporadic gunfire could be heard some areas around the Makka Al-Mukarrama Road.
So far no casualties of civilians were reported, though this heavy fighting may cause civilian casualties.
There are no comments from the warring sides and the fighting still going on.
