TWO robbers were shot dead in an armed robbery at a Somali-owned spaza shop in Wilsonia, Cambridge, Eastern Cape police said today (December 21).
“The owner of the shop with his two brothers was in the shop when four suspects entered on Sunday at about 6pm... they demanded money and opened fire inside,” said Captain Mluleki Mbi.
The owner managed to grab a firearm from one of the robbers.
“Shots were fired during the struggle and the owner was shot in the finger and his brother was shot in the toes.” Mbi said it was alleged two robbers were shot with their own firearm and died on the scene.
