EDMONTON (CP) — The victim of Edmonton's 10th homicide of the year has been identified as a 20-year-old man from Hamilton, Ont.

The body of Mohamed Farah Khalif was discovered along a trail in Hermitage Park on the northeast side of Edmonton early Sunday. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed today.

Edmonton police arrested two men later Sunday and say while Mr. Khalif and the two suspects are known to each other, they would not say how.

Abdikadir Mohamed Abdow, 22, and Mohamed Abdilla Awaleh, 36, face a total of 23 charges, including first-degree murder, two counts of kidnapping and two counts of robbery, plus multiple weapons-related charges.

Police say the speedy arrest of the two Edmonton men would not have been possible without help from the city's Somali community.
