newsinsidA Korean ship hijacked by Somali pirates is likely to arrive at the hijackers' headquarters on the east coast of the African country Friday.
The Foreign Ministry in Seoul said the "Bright Ruby" is moving down froem the upper part of the Gulf of Aden and is expected to arrive at the pirates’ headquarters around 4 p.m., Korean time.
A government official said the owner of the seized ship has not made any direct contact with the hijackers but that he believes the crew members are safe.
The ship's owner has been drawing up plans to expedite negotiations, as soon as they begin. However, such plans are requiring continuous revisions with the pirates constantly changing their demands.
Eight Koreans and 13 Burmese sailors were onboard the "Bright Ruby" when the freighter was seized Wednesday off the coast of Somalia.
