A 30-year-old man from Somalia was on Tuesday arraigned in Court charged with assaulting and grievously injuring another man at the Hal Far open centre.
Yusuf Osman Ilmi, who resides at the same open centre, pleaded not guilty to grievously injuring Said Mohamed Gudi during an incident which took place on Sunday evening at around 2230CEST.
The accused was further charged with breaching the public peace and disturbing the other inhabitants.
Magistrate Silvio Meli, presiding over the Court, ordered that the man should be remanded in custody.
Inspector Priscilla Caruana prosecuted, while Dr Mark Busuttil appeared for the defendant.
