The RCA has finalised preparations for the seasonal Ramadan projects totalling 4.7 million dirham (RM4.4 million) and is expecting more funds to be raised in the coming weeks.
Preparations such as money transfers and distribution plans as well as mechanisms for work teams to implement the projects have been completed, English daily "Gulf News" quoted RCA chairman Khalifa Nasser Al Suwaidi, as saying in a statement.
Some 2.5 million dirham has been allocated for breaking of fast functions and will be spent on banquet-style meals as well as food packages while one million dirham has been set aside for the Eid (Aidilfitri) clothing project.
Meanwhile, the RM1.2 million dirham zakat (tithe) project will target groups such as orphans, widows, low-income families, people with special needs and those affected by war or natural disasters.
Al Suwaidi praised the role played by UAE embassies in helping to implement the projects, saying it was a reflection of UAE's humanitarian face.
He also stressed on the important roles of donors.
