Duties and Responsibilities:

       Evaluate the level of interest, motivation and support of the Hiraan residents to the establishment of the HU.

     Survey, assess and evaluate the current status of the Hiiraan Region educational system.

      Project the size and students capacity of the Hiiraan University (HU) in the first year & potential growth.

       Address the question of potential number of students, teachers, professionals and other resource groups present in the Region and its neighbors.

       Mobilize, encourage and raise the awareness of the Hiiraan inhabitants to the HU.

       Establish a close contact with the grass roots including religious, youth, women and business groups, as well as the paramount-chiefs, chief of clans, elders, NGOs and local authorities.

       Identify a suitable location for HU in Beled Weyne, Hiiraan Region, Somalia. The location must be convenient to the target groups such as students, faculty, administrators, etc.

       Upon approval by HUA Board, negotiate with the rightful owner(s) of the land.

       Identify and rent an office for HU for use until the university is open for business. 

       Submit monthly and/or quarterly progress reports of all matters to the Chairperson of the HU for review, approval and dissemination to all interested parties.

       Coordinate, implement and oversee all administrative, financial and managerial matters of the HU in Somalia and submit financial statements to the office of the Executive Board in the USA.

Recruit office personnel, contractors, surveyors, etc. as needed.

       Receive Resumes and/or applications and submit them to the Executive Board for review and/or Human Resources Committee for decision. 

       Develop curriculum in collaboration with the teachers.

Required Qualifications

       B.A, B.Sc. and/or equivalent with 3-4 years of administrative and/or management experiences

       M.A/M. Sc. and/or PHD with 1 – 2 years of administrative & management experiences

       Excellent oral & written communication skills.

       Proficient writing skills in English and Somali languages

       Experience in academic setting is preferred

       Experience in similar position is a plus  

       In-depth knowledge of the community
