Ethiopian ruling coalition arrive in Jigjiga for party conference

    Jigjiga (HOL) - A high-level Ethiopian federal government delegation led by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed arrived in the capital city of Ethiopia's Somali Region on Friday for the Prosperity Party's executive committee meeting.

    The Somali Region's President Mustafa Mohammed Omar 'Agjar' welcomed Abiy Ahmed and Ethiopian Foreign Minister Demeke Mekonnen to Garaad Wiil-Waal Airport in Jigjiga. Mekonnen is also the Vice-President of the Prosperity Party.

    Senior Ethiopian cabinet officials,  including the Minister of Finance of Ahmed Shide, the Minister of Defense, Dr. Abraham Belay, and the Minister of Transport, Dagmawit Moges, all members of the ruling coalition in Ethiopia, are also attending the party conference.

    It is the first time Jigjiga has hosted the Prosperity Party's Executive Committee meeting.
