UPDF donates to the Somali Muslim community

The UPDF troops in AMISOM under the leadership of Contingent commander Brig Gen Sam Kavuma have offered and handed over 100 pieces of corrugated 32 gauge iron sheets to Khadhiib mosque and Hukuran Moslem school in a function held at sector one headquarters on Monday.

“Today I have the pleasure to handover the iron sheets, you had requested from sector one leadership. As I fulfill the promise, I urge you (Sheiks) to put roofing material in good use to enhance conducive learning environment.” said Gen Kavuma.

In his response, sheik Osman Mahd Seprey of the recipient Hukuran School expressed sincere appreciation for the support.

“Today we are very happy for the support offered as Allah’s people. Ugandans and Somalis share common interests and cooperate for the common good, May Allah bless UPDF” Said Sheik Osman Mahd.

He also reiterated the Huran commitment in teaching the moslem children the right direction of education and religion, including against negative propaganda of extremism.

The function was attended by Sheik Abdurahaman Abubakari and senior military officers of UPDF among others.

The recipient Moslem community Sufia Hadira is headquartered at Khalimow town in Middle Shabelle region and comprises of sub Islamic faithful groups; Qadiriya, Ahmadiya ,Salahiya, Zeliya,Rufsiya and Rashidiya.
