Bura MP Ali Wario has pledged to rally his colleagues from Northern Kenya in shooting down today’s motion against National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale.

After the April 2 Garissa University College terror attack in which 147 people were killed, Duale and Northeastern leaders promised to release the list of terrorists and their financiers.

Out of the 147 killed, 142 were students.

Nyeri Jubilee MPs said they will censure Duale over the list.

The eight MPs last week gave Duale a week to produce the list or they will table the censure motion in Parliament against him.

Wario said leaders from Northeastern, through their parliamentary caucus, read sinister motives in the motion against Duale.

He said he will not let their Nyeri colleagues divide their community.

The Bura MP told off Jubilee legislators over the censure motion, saying it will not solve security challenges faced in Northeastern.

Wario said the promise of the list by Duale was taken out of context and has been politicised.

He spoke at Hirimani Secondary School in Bura during a prize-giving ceremony.

“We should understand the complexity of terrorism as a global problem. It should not be viewed from a tribal perspective,” Wario said.

The MP said when Duale saw the bodies from the Garissa attack, he said he would provide the list “because he was overcome by emotion”.

“We have over-politicised the list. Anything happens to do with terrorism, we tell Duale to produce it. This is not the way to address challenges.”

“What if Duale tomorrow gives a list, will that end terrorism?” he said.
